Link Building

After the On-Page Optimisation has been carried out the Off-Page Optimisation becomes the crux of all Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) activities for any optimisation campaign. At the centre of this is building links to your site from other sites on the web (backlinks).

Although no one knows Google's algorithm for sure, it is well known that it will favour sites that have a large number of quality optimised links from other sites to it; this trend is also followed by the other main search engines.

We have several different techniques that we use to build up as many links to your site and help drive it up the rankings. These include:

If you consider a link from one site to yours as a vote for your site, then the greater the number of the links, the greater number of votes, thus making your site the most popular and favoured by the search engines.

Like all of our SEO activities, all of our link building is completely organic and white hat. We are not a slap-dash company that promise 1,000 links but deliver 100. We believe that it is only through building up links to your site steadily that you can achieve a solid ranking that more often than not is constantly improving.

At the heart of building links is the concept of PageRank (named after the creator of Google, Larry Page)

Google describes Page Rank as:

PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves "important" weigh more heavily and help to make other pages "important".
