Opinion Leader
An opinion leader is a member of a social community who is seen by others as having a great deal of expertise and who others in the community look to for advice and guidance on a certain subject. opinion leaders may be targeted directly by companies to help pass on positive word of mouth references about the company to those who seek their opinions. This is a particularly powerful marketing tool as members as opinion leaders are not directly associated with the company and therefore are seen as being less biased and will give an answer that can be trusted by the consumer.
