Microsoft's Internet Explorer is the most popular web browser due to the face that it comes pre installed most windows based PC's. Also many people are not aware that there are alternatives to Internet Explorer. Safari comes pre-installed on many Apple Mac's and suits that particular server. Mozilla Firefox is the second most popular browser and contains many compatible features of Google and is as being the most technologically sound program.

 Google has recently launched its own browser Google Chrome and this is seen as a direct attempt by Google to further undermine Microsoft on the Internet by seeking to take on Internet Explorer.

 Many experts believe that there is a browser “arms race” between these major companies and it is only going to increase of the next decade. Internet Explorers recent security problems has only served to exacerbate the competition between the major browsers.
